Security conscious and neurotic? So… this is what I do for fun on the weekends.

I don’t know why it occurred to me, but for some reason it crossed my mind that if I were to disable SIP (System Integrity Protection) on my computer for testing or troubleshooting of some kind, but forget to re-enable it, I could go on for quite some time without the security benefits it provides, and not noticing that it was off unless I thought to look.

So… I wrote this little basic utility to display an alert upon login if SIP is disabled.

Simply download this app. Drag it to your Applications folder, and add it to your login items. The app will run silently and quit itself quietly in the background if SIP is on at login. However, if for whatever reason it sees that SIP has been disabled, it will display an alert notification letting you know (see image below), and advise you to re-enable it.

Ok, so it’s not exactly revolutionary, but it crossed my mind, and I wanted my system to do this check, so I thought I’d share it with anyone out there neurotic/paranoid enough to want this.  Click the icon below to download the app/utility.
